Beauty Junkie is a salon in Murray Hill, Jacksonville, FL—clean-air, gratuity-free, and gender-neutral by design. Every service is one artist working with one human, on purpose, at your pace. No rush, no upsell script, no shame.
We cut and color in a way that fits your natural texture and your actual life, so you’re not stuck heat styling for 45 minutes just to feel okay in public. We care how you look when you leave the chair. We also care how you feel after washing your hair a few days later.
How Our Pricing Works
Every artist at Beauty Junkie charges an hourly rate. That rate already includes the cut, the color, the bowl mix, the toner, the treatment, the conversation, all of it.
We do not upcharge based on gender, hair length, or how “difficult” your hair is. There is no women’s cut, men’s cut, extra color charge, or toner fee.
You pay for the time, not your identity.
This protects a few things:
• Trans and nonbinary clients never have to pick a box that wasn’t built for them.
• Textured and dense hair isn’t punished for existing.
• Pricing is transparent. You know what you’re spending before we start.
The Space Itself
We try to make the room feel better for nervous systems, not worse.
• Clean air. Low-tox color and non-toxic styling products so you’re not marinating in fumes.
• Sensory support. Weighted capes, no forced front-facing mirror, softer lighting, quiet appointments when possible.
• Cashless + gratuity-free. No awkward “how much do I tip” moment at checkout. It’s handled.
• Boundaries. Our artists are encouraged to say what they need and so are you. You don’t have to talk the whole time. You don’t have to make eye contact. You don’t have to explain your gender.
Bottom line: you are not “maintenance.” You’re a human being who should get decent care without having to perform for it.
